Kat Prince, Pilates Instructor
Kat Prince
Kat has always been intrigued by how the body moves and how to optimize movement patterns for function, balance, strength and length. Her professional career took her to many interesting places across the country and abroad. During that time, she discovered that Pilates covered everything she was looking for and more –stress management, core strength and stability, muscle tone, improved posture, balance and coordination. She is passionate about sharing the profound benefits Pilates can offer all bodies. She is especially interested in how quality of life for active agers and those with neuro degenerative conditions can be improved through Pilates. She pursued her certification through STOTT Pilates, created by Moira Merrithew who studied the Pilates method in New York under Romana Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates’ original proteges who carried on his legacy. In addition to Advanced Level STOTT training, Kat holds specialty certifications in Active for Life, Athletic Conditioning, Post Rehabilitation, plus others. She has completed instructor training in Injuries and Special Populations, Fascial Movement and Instruction, Barre, and more. She finds inspiration from the work of Cara Reeser (3rdgeneration teacher), Sherri Betz, Leslie Logan and others. She moved to beautiful Birmingham in 2019. In addition to all things Pilates, Kat enjoys traveling with her husband.
